A 52-year-old woman identified as Titilayo has died shortly after being arraigned at the Federal High Court in Benin City on Tuesday.
The deceased was reportedly arrested by the Edo State Task Force and later transferred to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for prosecution.
She was said to have been apprehended for allegedly selling a substance suspected to be a hard drug.
Witnesses present in court attributed the incident to alleged negligence by the NDLEA, claiming the woman appeared visibly unwell when she was brought before the court.
