The Edo State Government has approved a minor reshuffle involving key officials in the state’s revenue sector as part of measures to strengthen and sustain its revenue generation drive.
The development was contained in a government special announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, stating that the governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, approved the changes with immediate effect.
According to the statement, the current Chairman of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, Odior John Osirenimhe, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS).
He succeeds Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Following the development, Idiake Patrick Akhimien, an Executive Director at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service, has been reassigned to the Edo State Audit Service Commission as its Chairman.
The government also announced the appointment of Victor Oamen Enemare to replace Akhimien at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service.
The Edo State Government explained that the reshuffle was aimed at strengthening revenue administration and ensuring continuity in the state’s revenue generation efforts.
The reassignments and appointment take immediate effect.
