The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Monday assured investors of a conducive business environment aimed at promoting industrial growth, job creation, and sustainable economic development.

The governor gave the assurance while performing the groundbreaking ceremony for a 100-megawatt power generation plant and a 300 metric tons per day liquefied natural gas facility at Taihu Industrial Park in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

Okpebholo said the project, which is expected to become operational within six months, reflects increasing investor confidence in Edo State and aligns with the government’s commitment to strengthening energy security and accelerating industrialisation.

He emphasised that his administration places greater value on attracting investments that drive development, noting that the state government provided land for the project and ensured that all processes were carried out in accordance with the law.

The governor also stated that Bola Ahmed Tinubu recognises the importance of power supply as a key driver of industrial development, adding that Edo State intends to leverage improved energy infrastructure to boost manufacturing and economic growth.

Also speaking, the chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Eric Osawaru, described the project as a major milestone for the host community and the country’s energy sector.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Power in Edo State, Paul Usebor, said the initiative represents a significant step toward positioning Edo as a centre for reliable electricity supply and industrial expansion.

Okpebholo further called on residents of the host community to extend the traditional hospitality associated with the people of Edo State to investors, assuring them that the government would continue to protect their investments and maintain an enabling environment for business operations.
