The Edo State branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has praised the Edo State Police Command, under Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika, for apprehending a kidnap suspect linked to the abduction of one of its members, highlighting the police’s steadfast commitment to public safety.
The commendation follows Sunday’s announcement by the Edo State Police Command regarding the arrest of three members of a kidnap gang implicated in the abduction of Dr. Ibrahim Abu and Tahir Abu.
Chairman of NMA, Edo State Branch, Dr. Eustace Oseghale, and Secretary, Dr. Iluobe Inegbenosun, in a statement from Benin City, lauded the police for strengthening security across Edo State.
Oseghale said the recent capture of a kidnap suspect allegedly involved in the abduction of one of their members demonstrated the police’s dedication and commitment to protecting doctors and residents in Edo State.
“The Commissioner of Police Edo State Police Command, the NMA, Edo State branch extends our heartfelt commendation for your tireless efforts in enhancing security in Edo State.
“The recent capture of a kidnap suspect allegedly involved in the abduction of one of our members is a testament to your dedication and commitment to the safety of our citizens.
“We particularly applaud the swift and tactical response of your officers, which has brought hope to the victim’s family and the entire community.”
“We’re confident that this breakthrough will be pursued with utmost diligence, leading to justice for the perpetrators and a significant reduction in kidnapping incidents in the state. Your efforts will be surely etched in the sands of history,” Oseghale said.
