Godwin Obaseki, the immediate former governor of Edo State, has started what he called a “post-tenure vacation.”
Obaseki said that he would be able to “rest and undergo extended medical checks” during his vacation.
Crusoe Osagie, the spokesperson for the immediate past governor, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Obaseki once again thanked God Almighty and the people of Edo State and Nigeria for the chance to serve, according to Osagie.
“He encouraged everyone who is Edo, both at home and abroad, to remain optimistic and to pray for the peace, development, and prosperity of our state and Nigeria.”
On November 11, Obaseki handed over his two-term of eight years to Monday Okpebholo.
On Tuesday, Okpebholo took the oath of office as the next governor of Edo State after defeating Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party and Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
