The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, on Friday, April 3, 2026, received the Sportsville Leadership Award in recognition of his impactful leadership and achievements within a short period in office.
Enabulele was presented with the Visionary Leadership Award at the 6th Sportsville Special Recognition Awards held at the Lagos Country Club. He expressed appreciation to the organisers, Sportsville Communications Ltd, for the honour.
He dedicated the award to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for giving him the opportunity to serve, as well as to members of the commission, athletes, and coaches whose efforts contributed to Edo State’s success at the recently concluded Niger Delta Games.
“ I appreciate Sportsville Communications for the honour done me and I see it as part of encouragement for us to do more. I dedicate this award to my state governor who gave me the opportunity to serve Edo State and contribute to the development of sports. This award is also for the wonderful Edo athletes, coaches and my board members who have been so supportive.” He said.
The award ceremony, chaired by renowned sports personality and founder of Brila Media, Larry Izamoje, brought together key stakeholders to celebrate excellence in sports development.
A total of 20 individuals were recognised across seven categories at the event. In the Icon category, Kwame Arthur and Chuka Momah were honoured, while Itiako Ikpokpo and Wahid Oshodi received the Sports Personalities of the Year award.
The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, was presented with the Sports Transformative Impact Award.
Other recipients included Femi Bankole Alibay and Bambo Akani in the Creative and Innovative category. The Achievers Award went to Christian Emeruwa and Felix Akiga.
In the Special Recognition category, Isaac Danladi led other awardees, including Akin Afolarin, Fred Newton Erhunmwunsee, Toyin Aluko, Fausat Dehinde Yekini, and Toyosi Oyetunji.
The Godswill Akpabio Stadium retained the Best Sports Facility Award in the government category, while Eagle Wings FC Sports Complex in Benin emerged winner in the private sector category.
The Sportsville Awards, founded by Frank Ilaboya, were established six years ago to recognise individuals and organisations contributing significantly to sports development in Nigeria.
