The Edo State Police Command has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for applicants from Edo State seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force will begin on March 9, 2026.

According to the command, the screening exercise will run until April 18, 2026, and is part of the ongoing nationwide police constable recruitment process.

Applicants who successfully completed the online registration are advised to visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their application status and print the necessary documents before the screening date.

All shortlisted candidates from Edo State are expected to report to the Police Training School, Ogida on the date and time indicated on their invitation slips.

Applicants are required to present several documents during the exercise, including their invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number (NIN) slip or NIMC card, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and local government or state of origin certificate. Specialist applicants are also expected to provide their trade test certificates where applicable.

Candidates must also submit both original and duplicate copies of their credentials neatly arranged in two separate white flat files, along with recent passport photographs.

The police further directed applicants to appear at the screening venue dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings.

Speaking on the exercise, the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Monday Agbonika, warned applicants to avoid fraudsters and emphasised that the recruitment process is free.

“The recruitment exercise is completely free of charge. Applicants should be wary of fraudsters and impostors who may attempt to exploit the process for financial gain. Anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

The command therefore advised all applicants to strictly follow the guidelines and report to the screening venue as scheduled.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Eno Ikoedem, on March 5, 2026.
