A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Oteghe Adams, is reportedly considering leaving the party amid ongoing internal challenges.
Adams, who previously belonged to the All Progressives Congress (APC), joined the PDP alongside former governor Godwin Obaseki after the latter was denied a second-term ticket in the APC.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is being speculated as his likely destination.
Attempts to obtain his reaction were unsuccessful, as he declined to comment on the development. However, a source close to him indicated that he may be preparing to join the ADC with a view to contesting in the 2027 general elections.
Oredo Local Government Area, one of the most politically active areas in Edo State, continues to attract strong competition among major parties.
It was also gathered that Adams may be considering contesting either for the Edo South Senatorial District seat or the Oredo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the ADC platform.
Adams has remained active in political affairs within Oredo and the wider Edo South Senatorial District, with his next move expected to shape political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections.
