The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has announced an extension of the deadline for filing Individual Annual Tax Returns (Tax Form A) and PAYE Tax Returns (Tax Form H3) to April 30, 2026.

The returns were initially scheduled to close on March 31, in accordance with the statutory timeline.

The extension covers a broad category of taxpayers, including individuals, business owners, professionals, freelancers, content creators, entertainers, artisans, consultants, tradesmen and women, employees, and employers.

The Executive Chairman of EIRS, Mr. John Osirenimhe Odior, FCA, ACTI, said the additional one month was granted to enhance taxpayer support and ensure more accurate filings.

He explained that the extension would allow taxpayers sufficient time to gather necessary documents, encourage better compliance, improve the accuracy of financial reporting, and provide more opportunity for public sensitisation and education.

The agency also advised taxpayers to make use of its digital platforms to complete their filings early and avoid last-minute delays.

Individuals filing Form A are expected to visit the official EIRS website to begin the process, while employers submitting Form H3 can file their returns online or at the nearest EIRS office.
