The nomination of Hon. Samson Raphael Osagie as the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice-designate has been approved by the Edo State House of Assembly.
But it wasn’t until Monday’s next plenary that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s choice for Commissioner for Health, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, was approved.
At Wednesday’s plenary, Audu Yahaya Omogbai, the Clerk of the House, read out the two nominations that were sent by Okpebholo, the recently elected governor of the State.
Governor Okpebholo announced the two candidates’ nominations on Tuesday, only hours after taking the oath of office as Edo State’s sixth elected governor.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, highlighted Osagie’s relevant experience, citing his time spent in the State and National Assemblies among other positions.
According to Agbebaku, the former congressman, who would now act as the State’s Attorney-General, will benefit from several advantages, including the decision to have him cleared.
