Chairman of the APC Congress Committee in Edo State, Kabir Ajanah, has described the recently concluded local government and ward congresses in the state as a model worthy of emulation by other states.
Speaking at a press conference at the APC Secretariat in Benin City, Ajanah said the hitch free conduct of the congresses reflected unity within the party and effective leadership by the state executive.
According to him, the smooth exercise was made possible because the state executive council carried members along, ensuring inclusiveness throughout the process.
He also attributed the peaceful outcome to the leadership style of Governor Monday Okpebholo, noting that party members aligned with the governor’s approach.
He said, “The congress has become a model for many other states to follow and I commend the state chairman, Jarret Tenebe, for providing the logistics that aided our job.
“The governor has also shown exemplary leadership to bring all the members of the party in the state on board.”
Also speaking, the state Acting Chairman of the party, Jarret Tenebe, said Edo State had become the cynosure of all eyes across the country owing to the rancour free conduct of the congresses in the 18 local government areas and 192 wards.
He noted that the level of development in the state under Governor Monday Okpebholo had positioned Edo as a reference point for progressive political organisation and governance.
