Akoko-Edo Aspirant Applauds Tenebe’s Emergence as APC Chairman

An aspirant for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency seat, Johnson Afagase, has commended Monday Okpebholo for promoting unity within the party following the peaceful conduct of the state congress in Edo State.

Afagase praised the governor’s leadership, noting that the harmony currently enjoyed within the party reflects his capacity to unite stakeholders. He also described the decision to grant Adams Oshiomhole the right of first refusal as a positive step, citing the senator’s leadership record and service to both the party and the nation.

“This unity we enjoy in the party today reflects the leadership qualities and capacity of the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. I celebrate the governor for this unity,” Afagase stated.

He expressed appreciation to party leaders and delegates for electing the Jarret Tenebe-led executive, describing the congress as smooth and rancor-free. Afagase further acknowledged the governor’s efforts in bringing together leaders from the three senatorial districts and various interest groups across the state.

The aspirant also lauded prominent party figures, including Abubakar Momoh, Pius Odubu, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Cecil Esekhaigbe, Charles Airhiavbere and Domingo Obende for their roles in strengthening the party.

Speaking on Tenebe’s emergence as chairman, Afagase described it as a testament to his integrity, dedication and longstanding service to the party, the state and the country.

“I believe that with his experience, reputation and qualities, Tenebe and his executive will outstandingly fulfill all tasks ahead in the next four years,” he added.

Afagase also reiterated his support for granting Oshiomhole the right of first refusal for a return ticket to the National Assembly, describing the move as a reflection of loyalty, fairness and respect for experience. He maintained that Oshiomhole’s contributions to the growth and stability of the APC at both state and national levels remain significant.
